Brown Recluse Spider

The Brown Recluse spider is found mainly in the central-Midwestern United States; southward to the Gulf of Mexico. It's abdomen is uniformly colored, although the coloration can range from light tan to dark brown, and is covered with fine hairs; which provide a velvety appearance.

Recent studies at the University of Kansas, have shown that the Brown Recluse spider is largely a scavenger; preferring dead insects. It generally occupies dark, undisturbed places, and has been discovered by exterminators; both inside and outside of homes. In favorable environments, the Brown Recluse's population; is usually quite large.

  2. This pest behaves much like it's name suggests. It is a recluse. It prefers to hide in dark areas, away from humans and natural predators. Avoiding a painful and venomous spider bite from this pest, is reason enough for homeowners to call in pest control services; to prevent an invasion.
