Whiptail Scorpion

The Whiptail scorpion is not venomous and not a true scorpion. This species can only spray a defensive mist of acetic acid, or vinegar; from the end of it’s tail.

Likely only to emerge only at night, the Whiptail scorpion hides during the day, under garbage and debris, inside piles of wood, or within the clutter of storage areas.

Using their giant pincers/claws to catch their prey, Whiptail scorpions are highly predatory, and an very effective exterminator; of many types of insects.

  1. At first glance, this species looks characteristically like prominent members of the scorpion family. However, because they are not venomous, and do their best to avoid humans; they are unlikely to cause a pest control problem.

  2. Many homeowners often mistake the Whiptail scorpion, for common members of the scorpion family, and immediately call for pest control services; to remove the frightening looking invader.
