Pharaoh Ant

The Pharaoh ant is notorious for being a major pest control problem, in hospitals, homes/apartments, hotels, grocery stores and restaurants.

The Pharaoh ant has been introduced to virtually every area of the world including Europe, the Americas, Australia and Southeast Asia.

An individual Pharaoh ant colony commonly consists of more than 2000 workers, however the high density of the nest; may give the impression of a larger colony. Pest control and exterminating can become difficult, when Pharaoh ant colonies fragment, and then repopulate; at a later time.

  1. Pharaoh ant is most problematic in hospitals. Pest control professionals and exterminators warn, that this pest is drawn to the warmth of the intensive care units; and operating rooms. The cause for major concern arises, when the ants access the sterile environment, and promote the spread of infection; or create electrical interference.

  2. Homeowners need to recognize the early warning signs of an impending ant invasion, and implement a pest control strategy; that effectively deters an attack.
